Pualei and Utah State during a timeout
My little cousin just started playing basketball at Utah State, and a couple of weeks ago the team was in Portland to play the University of Portland. Since my auntie and uncle were flying up from Hawai'i for the game, we figured we'd drive down there to cheer on the Aggies. We had a great time checking out Portland for the first time, visiting with family and some friends that recently moved there, and watching basketball.
Pualei is the first division I athlete in our family and we are extremely proud of her. She's just a freshmen so she's working hard for playing opportunities and trying to make the most of them when they arise. We hope she keeps up the good work both on the court and in the classroom!

Tyler what you wrote about Pualei was very nice and very touching. She got some significant playing time against Pepperdine. They mainly put her in to handle the press and run the offense. She did awesome. She didn't get an opportunity to score, however, she accomplished her role of handling the ball, no turnovers and breaking the press and adding some speed to the team while she was on the floor. She went in with the other players from the bench and from an 18 point deficit they brought Utah with 7. Then it was halftime, the starters came out and was having a difficult handling the speed and athleticism of Pepperdine. Would have like to win, but we were so proud of Pualei and doing so well.
